2-2-23
Blessed are those who believe in Jesus My devotion for today is based on Matthew 5:3-5: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Jesus always has a heart for the ‘have nots’ – the poor, those who mourn, the meek, and those who seek righteousness. That is because his way is exactly the opposite of everyone else’s. There will be a time when Jesus’ way prevails. At that time, those who are self-righteous will be demoted, and the spiritually inept will be strengthened and promoted. Christians who are oppressed, the victims, and the losers will finally triumph. At that time, death will no longer be the final answer but only the beginning. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Lord, just as you have a heart for me, give me a heart for the ‘have nots’ of the world. Amen.
