8-2-19
Today’s devotion is based on Romans 151-2, “We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.” These two verses sum up the Christian life, for in Christ we have, if only we chose to do it, what it takes to help them in their time of need. While you might not have the money or the physical ability to help someone, you can still help by being an encouragement to them. You can speak well of them when others are saying disparaging words toward them. There is a lot each of us can do in our own way. Last by certainly not least, you can pray with them, thus showing the love of Christ to them. Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, help me to be an encourager today to those in need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
