Come and see As we continue to celebrate Jesus' birth while waiting for his Second Coming during Epiphany, my devotion for today is based on John 1:45,45, "Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." 46 Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus called his disciples in numerous ways. Most of the time, he only said, "Follow me." and they followed him. This morning we hear Jesus calling a disciple indirectly through Philip. Nathanael did not think anything good could come from the notorious town of Nazareth. Philip said to him, "Come and see." There is no better answer, even today when people come up with objections and excuses as to why they reject Jesus. We need to remember that someone in our life had said either directly, such as when a believer said to you, "Come and see." or indirectly, "Come and see." when your parents brought you to worship on Sunday morning, you came to Jesus. Who do you know that is waiting for you to say, "Come and see." Please pray with me; Thank you, Lord, for inviting me to come and see you. Let me continue to follow you so that I see with my own eyes and hear all the voices and experience through your Word all that you did, do, and will do on my behalf. All praise to you, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
