Today’s devotion is based on Romans 14:7-9, “For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.”
You do not belong to yourself. You are the Lord’s own precious possession. That changes the way you live. All that you do, say and think, is to honor and thank the Lord. The fact that you belong to the Lord God also changes the way you will die. Along with your eternal destiny, that hour is in the hands of a loving God who tells us, "Do not be afraid. I will save you, for I have called you are mine.”
Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, You have made me by your word and purchased me by the blood of Jesus, O God. Take what is yours and mold me in such a way that my life will honor you. All glory and honor are given to you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
