Today's devotion is based on Philippians 4:11-13 and verse 19. "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength . . . And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." These verses are a reminder that no matter what we face in life, God's love and promises are always there to give us strength and peace. We are to trust in God's provision and be content in every situation, knowing that He will always meet our needs. We are not to seek contentment in our possessions or circumstances but instead, find it in Christ Jesus. Despite what life may throw at us, Jesus is always there with love and promises. His promises give us the strength to live contentedly, no matter what's happening around us, because we know that God's promises never change. He will always provide us with the riches we have in Christ Jesus. If God has already given us Christ's blood, then we can trust that He will also provide us with everything we need. Let's pray together: Holy Spirit, please help me to have greater faith that always sees your promises and provision. Give me humility when I have more than enough and assurance when I am lacking. Work in me persistent contentment that is centered in Jesus. Amen.
