Today’s devotion is based on Jesus’ words to his disciples in John 15:15, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” Nothing can separate us from the loving, healing, and sovereign presence of our friend, Jesus. He loved us before we were loveable. His friendship goes above and beyond. He humbled himself and took on the sin of every human being who had lived, is living, and will live in the future, by laying down his life for all. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Heavenly Father, gracious God, creator and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to this world. For he is a friend like no other. His friendship carries us through each day. Thank you for loving us unconditionally and for the abundant favor you pour over us. Your grace is immeasurable. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
