Today’s devotion is based on Romans 7:7,8: “Can we say, then, that the Law itself is sinful? Of course not! But it was the Law that made me know what sin is. If the Law had not said, ‘Do not desire what belongs to someone else,’ I would not have known such a desire. But by means of that commandment sin found its chance to stir up all kinds of selfish desires in me. Apart from law, sin is a dead thing.” Ignorance of God’s Law still brings death to those who disobey it. The Law in itself is not sinful; it shows what sin is. The Law accuses us of wrongdoing. In desperation, we look to Christ, the one who took God’s punishment in our place. In the knowledge of forgiveness, the Law becomes a guide on how we are to live while at the same time continuing to show us how much we are in debt to the Lord for his gift of forgiveness. Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, help me to know your will, Lord, so that my ignorance does not cause me to sin. Forgive the times I disobey you when I do have full knowledge of the law. Thank you, Lord, for freeing me from the prison of sin. Help me to trust and follow you to eternal salvation. All glory and honor are given to you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

It has been quite some time since we've posted any blog entries - the winter weather has kept us indoors and limited our railfanning.
