Today’s devotion is based on Acts 2:36, “God has made him (Jesus) both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” This verse comes from the first missionary sermon know to have given in God’s Chruch on earth. It concerned the most important topic that should be proclaimed: Jesus is God’s Son and Savior of the world. Thus when we see Jesus, we can say: Behold, here is our God. Saying that Jesus is God isn't supposed to confuse things. It is supposed to make things clear and comprehensible for everyone. For it shows us who God is. The Holy Spirit does this when he glorifies Christ and allows us to understand that Jesus is God’s only Son who willingly died in our place so that we can stand before God and be declared innocent, not because we deserve it, but because Jesus’ death covered our guilt. Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, thank you for taking me by the hand and leading me in the truth, that wonderful truth that only you, the Triune God can make me truly alive. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
