Great faith is persistent Today's devotion is based on Matthew 15:22, "Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly." Throughout this week, I will share my insights on what it means to have strong faith. Great faith requires persistent trust. When you read the account of the Canaanite women, who had a great need, and who knew who to turn to for help, would not be deterred by the disciples or Jesus? Even though Jesus ignored her. He doesn't answer her, at least at first, but she keeps trusting that he will help her in her time of need. She did not give up but persisted. Let us pray together: Dear Lord, I humbly admit that I cannot do everything alone. I am plagued by sin, a desire to control others, and a lack of forgiveness. I need you, Lord. Please have mercy on me, and may my faith in you grow stronger daily. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
