6-12-22
Today's devotion is based on Matthew 11:25, "At that time, Jesus declared, 'I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children.'" The Trinity is a mystery, something that cannot be fully understood. The nature of God is incomprehensible. If we could fully understand God, then we would believe that He is something that is made up in our imagination. We can only know the Holy Trinity because God has revealed himself to us as the Father, who created, The Son, who is our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, who works in God's Church and our hearts. The important thing is not to understand how he can be all three at once; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but rather to meet Him as He is so you can believe in him as your Father, your Savior, and your helper, who leads you down the right path. Please pray with me; Holy triune God, how can I understand your nature? How can I grasp the bottomless depth of your mysteries? How can I know you who are vaster than all of the universe and wonders of life? I cannot rely on my own abilities, but through the work of the Holy Spirit, I can worship and praise you for being my heavenly Father, my Savior, and my helper. Blessed be your name, the Holy Trinity, my Lord and God. Amen.
