How to live a virtues life
Today's devotion is based on Philippians 2:1-4. “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

Today's passage from Philippians describes a life filled with virtues: encouragement, comfort, love, unity, humility, and selflessness. It can be difficult to live a life like this, especially in a world that is often selfish and divided. But it is possible when we are united to Christ.

When we are united to Christ, we are forgiven of our sins and given a new heart. We are also filled with the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live a virtuous life.
Here are a few tips for living a virtuous life:

• Spend time with Jesus. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we become like Him. Read the Bible regularly, pray often, and worship with other believers.
• Be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to live a virtuous life. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and control your life.
• Be humble. Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues. When we are humble, we are willing to put others before ourselves and serve them.
• Be selfless. Selflessness is the opposite of selfishness. When we are selfless, we are more interested in the needs of others than in our own needs.

Please pray with me: Holy Spirit, unite me to Christ and give me humility so that I value others above myself. Help me to live a life filled with the virtues of encouragement, comfort, love, unity, and selflessness. In Jesus' name, amen.
