Since we are still celebrating our Savior rising from the dead, I have chosen Luke 24:9 for the devotion today, Jesus is speaking. “It is I myself.” While those words were spoken to the disciples that first Resurrection evening, they also speak to us. Each of us has to recognize Jesus, just as they did that evening, not that he was alive, but as our Lord and Savior. We need to understand, just as they did, without his death, we are doomed. His death fulfilled the promise made by the angels at his birth. We are now at peace with God. We no longer have to fear death. We can now live our lives in fellowship with God and each other. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Lord, I pray you also will open our minds today so we can understand the Scriptures. You are the key to them. If we know them, we will know you, just as the disciples did as they studied the scriptures. Thank you for doing this for us so that we can live in peace with God and each other. In your holy name, I pray. Amen
