Today’s devotion is based on Matthew 11:2-6. “Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?" And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is the one who is not offended by me." John the Baptist had expectations of God. He wanted the savior of the world to come. Jesus was not behaving as John wanted. He was still in jail and Jesus had not released him from jail. So he asked Jesus if he was the one. The verses for today tell us Jesus’ answer. The good news is that this good news is for you and me too. This good news is that Jesus is the Savior. Jesus is the one who heals. Jesus is the one who gives a new life, a new start. Jesus is the one who is always with us. Through times of tragedy, celebration and everything in between Jesus is ultimately in control. All praise to God. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Thank you, Jesus, for saving me and giving me life with you. Guide me to always look to you. In your name, I pray. Amen
