7-11-19
Today’s devotion is based on Romans 4:25-5:2, “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” The righteousness from God is none other than Jesus himself. We can never achieve this righteousness on our own. To be considered righteous before God, a person has to live a perfect life in obedience to God. And it will not happen, for even the good we do is contaminated by sin. We are now at peace with God, for Jesus fulfilled what the angels said at his birth, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." We no longer have to fear death and Judgment Day. All praise to God for his wonderful grace toward us. Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, praise to you, that we can celebrate your victory as our victory and rejoice in it. All praise and glory to you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
