Jesus reunited us with God.
Today's devotion is based on Romans 9:14-16, "What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort but on God's mercy."
Today's passage reminds us that our salvation entirely depends on God's mercy. We cannot earn our way to heaven by our good works or efforts. Instead, we must rely on Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, to pay the penalty for our sins.
The Bible says that "God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love" (Psalm 145:8). He loves us even though we are sinners, and He has made way for us to be forgiven and reunited with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
When we place our faith in Jesus, we are forgiven our sins and given a new life. We are adopted into God's family and become His children. We are also given the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live a life that is pleasing to God.
Please pray with me: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins and to reunite me with God. I place my faith in You today and trust You to save me. Amen.
