10-29-23
Today's devotion is based on Romans 3:21-24, “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Today's devotion reminds us of the profound truth about God's desire for fellowship with us. In this scripture, we learn that righteousness is a requirement for a close relationship with God. However, we must acknowledge that we all fall short of this requirement due to our imperfections. In our inadequacy, God recognized our desperate need for salvation. His boundless mercy compelled Him to act. He entered our world and bore the consequences of our sin, enduring the punishment we rightfully deserved. In His selfless act, He bestowed upon us His perfection, making us righteous in His sight. God's grace covers us with the righteousness we could never attain on our own. Please pray with me: Thank you, Lord, for your words of assurance and hope that are given to us in the Bible verses for today. Help us to always remember that it is only in Christ, that we are declared righteous in God's eyes. Amen.
