9/2/20
Today’s devotion for today is from Luke 9:62, “Jesus said to him, ‘No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” A farmer needs to stay focused when plowing. He/she cannot wander around, bearing off course or backtracking if they want to finish plowing the field. It is now different for us in our journey of life. We have to keep our eyes on the prize, eternal life with God. Jesus didn’t do his own thing. His focus was on doing the will of his Father. Unlike Jesus, we don’t have perfect trust in the Father, so we need help to reach the goal. His enabling grace is sufficient for whatever we need; that takes time for us to learn. I thank God for his grace toward us, for without it we would not be able to keep our eyes on the goal. Please prays the prayer for today with me: Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, teach me your ways that I may walk in your truth as I live my life here on this earth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
