Today's devotion is based on 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
That seems to be an unreasonable demand, but in reality, it is true. Christianity must occupy the whole of life. There can be no compromise between the claims of God and the claims of society, or anything else for that matter. Society's truths are fluid, while God's truths are permanent.
So while we are to do all to God's glory, this does not mean that Christianity excludes the ordinary or extraordinary things of life. For Christianity does not replace our natural life with a new one life. It encompasses our entire life. Thus everything we do in life will give glory to God.
Please pray with me, Heavenly Father, gracious God, thank you for forgiving me when I don't always live my life in the way that gives you glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
