Living in the kingdom of God while living in the world Today's devotion is based on 1 Corinthians 7:31, "Those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with. For the present form of this world is passing away." The one who owns a portion of Christ's kingdom still lives in the world. Yet, he has, a new relationship with the world. Before, it was a world that brought meaning to his life. He didn't count on anything else. The idea was to survive, seize opportunities, and try to improve one's life. But, once he knows the importance of living in and by the standards of the kingdom of God, these things are no longer vital, for he has meaning and purpose that will not disappoint but bring joy, happiness, and success while still living in the world. Please pray with me: Lord Jesus, here I am in the middle of everyday life, surrounded by everything I need to sustain life. It causes me so much toil and yet so much joy. Thank you for calling me to live in your kingdom, the kingdom of God, where I find true happiness as I serve others. In your name, I pray. Amen.
