8-9-23
Today’s devotion is based on 1 Corinthians 6:19,20, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. You have probably heard, ‘It’s my body, and I can do with it what I want’? It may seem like we have the freedom to be whatever we want in today’s society, but as Christians, we are to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in us, and we were bought at a price. Therefore, we must honor God with our bodies. St. Paul reminds us that we have the right to do anything, but not everything is beneficial. We should pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us and inform our choices, so we can live in a way that honors God. We must remember that God knows what is best for us, and we should be humble enough to accept his guidance. Let’s pray together: Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us for being led by worldly standards instead of your word. Please guide us and help us to live in a way that honors you. Amen.
