Since we are still celebrating our Savior rising from the dead, I have chosen 1 Corinthians 15:35 for my devotion for today. “But someone will ask, ‘How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?’” According to our human nature, it is naïve to believe that our body will be raised from the dead. ‘How can that be when the body does not exist anymore?’ we ask. ‘And if it is raised, what kind of body will it be?’ we ask. We do not know the simple answer, but we do know that our body will be like Christ’s body, the resurrected one. We know that when God created the human body, he breathed the breath of life into it, our soul. From that, we know that the body and soul are meant to be together. This then means that our present body will be united with our soul on the day that Jesus calls all those who have died to rise from the dead. We will live again. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Thanks be to you, Lord God, who gives us the victory through Jesus Christ. The fact that you gave this victory to us and allowed us to live by your side was far more than we hope for or ask for. Blessed Savior, you live and reign in your kingdom. You have power in heaven and earth. You reign not for your glory, but for our future glory. In Jesus’ holy name, we pray. Amen
