1-14-23
My devotion for the day is based on Isaiah 48:22, “There is no peace’, says the Lord, ‘for the wicked.” The question is, who are ‘the wicked’, and what does this mean? First of all, we need to know God alone gives peace as Isaiah writes in Isaiah 48:17, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.” Secondly, we can now see that the wicked that God is talking about do not listen to or follow the word of the Lord. So while they might appear to be leading a peaceful life with few cares, they still have no peace. They are lost from the kingdom. There will be no rest for them, and they will be cast out into the outer darkness, eternal separation from God where there is no peace or hope. Please pray with me a verse from the song ‘Shout.’ “Jesus, my Redeemer, name above all names, precious Lamb of God, Messiah, O for sinners slain. Thank you, O my Father, for giving us your Son and leaving your Spirit till the work on earth is done.” (Melody Green © 1982 Birdwing Music; Admin by SHOUT! Music Publishing Australia)
