Resting in the grace of God

Today's devotion is based on Romans 7:18, 19, "For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing."
It's easy to fall into the trap of repeating our sins, even when we have the best intentions. Romans 7:18,19 reminds us that we have a sinful nature and struggle to do what is good. However, we can take comfort in being saved through Jesus and his perfect life and death on the cross. We don't have to rely on our good intentions to be saved. Instead, we can have faith in Jesus and ask for his strength to live for him.
Let's pray for his help and guidance in our daily struggles. Dear Jesus, help me find comfort today, not in my good intentions, but in your life and death. When I struggle with right and wrong, please give me the strength to live for you. Amen.
