8-1-19
Today’s devotion is based on Romans 13:17,18. “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.” We have so many versions of Christianity that those outside of the faith are turned off because too many times, all they see is our fighting among ourselves concerning how the Christian faith is to be practiced. The passage above is clear that the only thing that matters is “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Please pray with me the prayer for today. Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, help your people to live righteous lives in Christ so that we will show a united faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
