3-2-21
Today’s devotion is based today on Psalm 27: 5-7: “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD. Hear my voice when I call, LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.” Today, I want you to let go of all your sadness and ask God to replace it with His joy. His joy will sustain you through good and bad times. Sadness is natural, but prolonged sadness can hinder you. I am not talking here about the sadness resulting from a painful experience, such as a death of a loved one or the receiving of bad news about one’s health. I am speaking about a sadness that sticks to you and does not allow you to enjoy your life. Seek the joy of the Lord in every circumstance. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen; I come before you today asking your help so that even in times of sorrow, sadness does not keep me from the joys of living under your protecting hand. In Jesus’ holy name, I pray. Amen.
