Today’s devotion is based on Matthew 7:24-27, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Jesus said that you need a solid foundation to withstand the storms of this life. If your foundation is built on sand, just human knowledge, your life will come crashing down during stormy times. If your foundation is built on rock, God’s Word, you’ll be able to withstand life’s storms. Trust Jesus. No foundation can be more solid than that, both for your life right now and for eternal life in heaven. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Heavenly Father, creator, and sustainer of all things, seen and unseen, keep me firmly grounded, trusting your words for life now and forever. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
