8-1-23
Today’s devotion is based on 1 Kings 3:9,10, where we read, [Solomon said], “So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. As I reflect on the story of Solomon, I am struck by his choice to ask for wisdom above all else. He recognized that earthly blessings could not compare to the value of wisdom in the Lord. I too want to place a high value on wisdom and carry out the work the Lord has given me in a way that honors him. Instead of asking for more earthly blessings, I pray for wisdom that brings deep contentment and allows me to make choices that honor Jesus as my Savior. Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings you have already given me. May I use them to bring glory to your name. Amen. This morning I am trying a new format for my daily posting. I would like any feedback.
