Trust in the Lord's guidance Today's devotion is based on Numbers 9:23, "At the Lord's command they (Isreal) set up camp, and at the Lord's command they set out. They obeyed the Lord's order, in accordance with his command through Moses." The Israelites survived their 40-year ordeal by obeying the Lord's command on when to stay and when to move camp. Only the Lord knew where they were going and why. They were only to be obedient and trust that their Lord knew best. In obeying God, the people of Israel have set an example for us. For God's promise came true, even though they did not always follow God's commands. God's promise of eternal life with him in heaven, our "Promised Land," will be better than their Promised Land, for it will be perfect. God is to be trusted that all will be well. He calls us to be obedient as his Holy Spirit enables us, so we can confidently travel the road of life with him. Please pray with me; God you are the Great Provider. You promised to lead me to the 'Promised Land.' Thank you for leading me throughout my life and providing for all my day-to-day needs. Thank you for forgiving me when I have grumbled and failed to trust you. Empower me with your Spirit to trust and obey your leading in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
