Who is the real Jesus?

Today's devotion is Matthew 16:15,16, "based on "But what about you?" [Jesus] asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."

It seems that everyone is trying to find the "real" Jesus. Who is this man who commands so much interest and attention? Who is this man who has had such an impact on humanity?

Jesus is God's Son; he is true God. No sacrifice would be sufficient to pay for our sins other than God's very Son, God himself. No one could meet the perfect requirements that God demands besides his only Son, our Lord.

If you want to see the proof that God loves you and wants to draw you to himself, look no further than this most precious gift, God's own Son. If you want to know if this Jesus is powerful enough to help you, look no further than the one who has skin and bones like you and me but is nothing less than God. This is the real Jesus.

Please pray with me: Almighty Father, thank you for sending your only Son Jesus into my world. May I always treasure him as the Christ, the one you chose to be my Savior. Amen.
