Today’s devotion is based on God’s word to us in 1 Peter 5:8, “Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion," There’s a lot of fear going around at the moment. And into that turmoil, the devil comes, sowing even more discord with suggestions like: ‘I’m going to be next,’ ‘If I get sick, I will die.’ Or, ‘I’m all alone.’ Every one of them lies. Recognize them for what they are. Get back to the source of your life and hope. Draw the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Protect your mind with the helmet of salvation. Feed from Jesus, the Bread of Life. Read up on everything that God promises to do for you. And stand firm, for even though it might seem like it the present circumstances of life, the battle has already been won! Satan has lost. You are not alone. And if God is for me, who can stand against me? No one, that is for sure. Please pray with me the prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank you that the battle with Satan is won. Fill my mind with the promises of your goodness. Feed me daily from Jesus, who is the Bread of Life. Thank you that I am your child. I cling to you in this crisis, knowing that you are immovable and eternal. Surround us, your people with your love. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
